The Challenge
The sports academy required urgent expansion of their administrative facilities to accommodate growing staff numbers and enhanced athlete support services, including sports psychology, nutrition counselling, and performance analysis departments. Traditional construction would have disrupted training programmes during the critical pre-season period and exceeded their budget constraints. The academy needed a solution that could deliver high-quality office space quickly whilst maintaining the professional environment essential for attracting elite coaching staff and supporting athlete development programmes.
Our Solution
Vector Space Modular designed and manufactured a b ke two-storey office complex comprising 18 individual office units, three conference rooms, a reception area, and specialized coaching analysis suites with integrated AV systems. Our modular construction approach allowed 80% of the building work to be completed off-site in our Scunthorpe facility, minimizing disruption to the academy's operations. The modules were manufactured to exceptional acoustic standards to ensure confidential athlete consultations, whilst incorporating sustainable materials and energy-efficient systems to align with the academy's environmental commitments.
The Results
The project was completed two weeks ahead of the traditional construction timeline, allowing the academy to commence operations in time for the new season. Staff productivity increased by 25% due to purpose-designed spaces, whilst operational costs reduced by 18% through enhanced energy efficiency. The facility now accommodates 45 administrative and coaching staff compared to the previous 28, enabling the academy to expand their athlete intake by 30% and introduce three new specialist support programmes that have contributed to a 40% improvement in athlete performance metrics.
